18th November, The Coliseum @ Hard Rock Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa
is another significant day to be remembered, FOREVER & ALWAYS.
Good Charlotte was my very first band obsession back when i was 13.
Can you believe it? I've been waiting for 7 years just see them live &
my wish finally came true on 18th November.
Yes, the band have been on tour to Singapore back in 2005 but i was just 14. I didn't have any job. I don't earn my own money. I was still dependable on my parents. I swear, my parents doesn't approve of me going for gigs / concerts back then even up till now.
Anyway, back to 18th November. The tickets for that gig was $108 each but i managed to get a darn good deal from a friend's friend, whose mother was 1 of the organizers of the gig. I got 2 tickets for $120. It's such a really good deal & it would be such a total waste if i gave it a miss.
A day before the gig, i received a call from Warner Music Singapore. Guess what? I won a pair of tickets but nope, the tickets didn't go to waste coz i brought my sister along and gave the other ticket away to my best friend's sister.
So let's go straight to the point. I am sure you guys are wondering how the gig is and the reviews on the gig. Well, here's my review on the gig.
My friends & I headed early just to queue as we wanted to be the first in line & get the best spot which is standing right at the barricade, right in front of the stage. Some of them queued as early as 8am. We were second in line though.
Us in the queue.
Since we were early, we went up to The Coliseum, walked around & i saw my friend, Kalis with Benji. Went over to him and asked him if we could take a picture with Benji & so he allowed us to. Oh, I LOVE YOU KALIS! Anyway, Kalis is on internship and he is attached to Resorts World Sentosa. He is the production co-ordinator for Good Charlotte's Jack Daniels Set @ The Coliseum.
Kalis's tag! :)
So that's my best friend and i with Benji! <3 <3
So, after we took a picture with Benji, we thought that we might be able to meet the other band members if we were to hang out around there so we did. We got chased by the security guys at least twice but to no avail. Nothing can stop us.
The wait was worth it. We then saw Dean & Paul so we approached them and asked them if it's alright if we take a picture with them.
This was what happened: We were in the middle of the photo taking when a security personnel came and stopped us & Dean got pissed off.
Security personnel to us: "Hey girls, back off. 1 last shot. Just 1 last shot."
Dean to the security personnel: "Hey, don't worry, it's fine."
Security personnel to us: "Girls, hurry. Just 1 shot."
Dean to the security personnel, in a firm and pissed off tone: "I SAID IT'S FINE"
Isn't Dean a sweetheart? He's so sweet and nice. He doesn't mind taking pictures with his fans. he even said, "Thank you & see you guys later".
I LOVE YOU DEAN!
My best friend with Dean Butterworth & Paul Thomas! :)
So that's me with Dean & Paul! :))
We didn't get to take picture with Joel and Billy though. They blocked off the entrance to The Coliseum soon after.
Doors opened at 6.30pm. Had to go through security check (as usual) & we dashed like mad women immediately after the security check so yeap, we managed to stand first in row, right at the barricade & i was right in front of Billy & Joel!
Before the gig started.
First row, right at the barricade! Woots woots!
Opening act started at 7pm. Opening act was by UrbanDub, a band from the Philippines. They played a total of about 7 songs. I swear, 7 songs felt like a lifetime. I was too excited for Good Charlotte that i didn't pay much attention to UrbanDub.
I didn't really like UrbanDub though (no offence) but yeah, i don't really dig their music. I find that their music is a little too All Time Low-ish. Well, maybe they are inspired by All Time Low. If that's the case, i am so darn proud of my All Time Low boys because they are a source of inspiration to others!
The Good Charlotte boys finally came on stage at about 8pm. I had goosebumps the moment they appeared on stage. It felt so surreal. I seriously thought i was dreaming but I WASN'T! They played for about an hour or so, close to 2 hours & they played a total of about 17 songs. They started off with The Anthem & everyone started jumping like mad. The crowd went wild.
Look at Benji! Naaaw, SO ADORABLE!
Joel Madden
Billy
ADORABLE PAUL! Paul was hiding at the back most of the time!

I had such a great night. It was such an amazing experience. During Dancefloor Anthem, Joel Madden got off the stage, climbed the barricade right IN FRONT OF ME and stood there for about 20 seconds. His tummy & sweaty body was pressing against my face & my nose. I swear i thought i was gonna die because i was suffocated & i couldn't breathe. Joel's tummy was pressing against my nose. Despite feeling suffocated, i took the opportunity to touch him all over. Yes, ALL OVER!
Dancefloor Anthem.
Jump to 1:04 to 1:26 to witness the part where Joel climbed the barricade.

They ended the night with Lifestyles of The Rich & Famous. The crowd screamed and shouted for encore so they came back out for encore. Joel got off stage & walked along the barricade and yes, i managed to touch Joel again.

After the encore, Dean got off the stage, walked directly to us and passed his drumstick to us personally! Yeap, that's how lovely Dean is!
HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE DEAN?!
In short, IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING NIGHT. The band sounds amazingly live. I am glad that i went for their gig. Thank you Good Charlotte for the awesome night. Please come back to Singapore again alright?
